Review of Soils Design Construction, and Prototype Observations Ferrells Bridge Dam, Texas.

Abstract

Ferrells Bridge Dam was designed by the Lower Mississippi Valley Division and constructed under the supervision of the U.S. Army Engineer District, New Orleans, Louisiana. Geological studies, foundation investigations, and soils design studies were made by the U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station. Engineering measurement devices were installed and observed by the New Orleans District. The report contains a brief summary of the soils and foundation studies made in connection with the design of the structures, the basis of design, pertinent construction data, analyses of observations obtained from engineering measurement devices, and conclusions and recommendations.
