Electron Collisions and Cross Sections in Hydrogen.

Abstract

Cross sections for inelastic scattering of electrons on molecular Hydrogen are determined using single center wave functions. Transitions among the 9 states X, B, C, E, B', a, b, c, e are calculated for a range of energies using various approximations for the exchange scattering amplitude. For more accurate low energy cross sections Seaton's partial wave analysis for atomic Hydrogen is extended here to molecular Hydrogen. (Author)
