CW Chemical Laser Modeling Including Simple Temperature and Mixing Effects.

Abstract

The simple numerical model of a flowing continuous wave (cw) chemical laser which was developed following the work of Airey for the Cl + HBr = HCl + Br reaction has been used to study certain effects on the output power. The effects being studied occur when the rotational temperature is allowed to be different from the translational temperature, when these temperatures are equal but the rotational distributions are allowed to deviate from Boltzmann, and when the mixing rate is allowed to vary. Simple schemes are included in the model to obtain an idea of the effects and trends which can be expected as a function of these variations. The numerical results are presented. (Author)
