Abstract

WITH BEAM CHARACTERISTICS WERE EVALUATED USING A DIGITAL COMPUTER PROGRAM. Both single beam and dual beam experimental electron guns were designed, constructed and evaluated using a demountable electrostatic beam analyzer. Experimentally measured beam characteristics were found to be similar to the theoretically predicted values. A composite circuit structure, consisting of individual left and right handled helices along with connecting straps and support rods, was designed. The design of a composite barrel and wrapped solenoid was also completed. Fixturing and tooling required for assembly of the circuit, barrel and shrink fitting of the circuit into the barrel were designed and ordered. Circuit match studies were also conducted.
