The Electron Beam Welding Production Process,

Abstract

The purpose of this research report is to analyze the production design process of electron beam welding. Therefore, the advantages and disadvantages of electron beam welding are qualitatively discussed and quantitatively weighed. Production cost models are synthesized to develop a general description of the electron beam welding production process. An example problem follows to illustrate the specific costs involved for such models. Finally, it is concluded that electron beam welding has a great future potential. However, the obstacles that have to be overcome are currently high costs and relatively low production output. (Author)
