South Africa -- A U. S. Dilemma Resolved.

Abstract

The basic question is whether or not the U. S. can expand its relations with the Republic of Soth Africa despite the Republic's practice of extreme racial discrimination against non-whites. South Africa's efforts to establish friendly relations with the independent black African nations to its north are examined along with South Africa's potential for playing the stabilizing role of core nation within sub-Saharan Africa. Data was gathered by a review of current literature and periodicals plus an examination of statements and actions by black African leaders in response to South Africa's outward foreign policy overtures begining in 1967.
