A Better Return-on-Investment from Testing of Reserve Components Units.
Abstract
The basic question is how to get more from our testing program for reserve component units. Sources include responses to a questionnaire submitted to officers with recent experience with ATT (Army Training Tests); a report by the Strategic Studies Institute, USAWC; and by personal contact. Results of the questionnaire suggest that an ATT should be viewed as a training opportunity rather than a burden, and to this end, the stigma involved in failure should be greatly reduced. Tests should be taken more often and at higher levels, and should be integrated with other types of exercises where appropriate. (Modified author abstract)
