Method of Assembling Sandwich Panels with a Honeycomb Filler,

Abstract

A method is described for assembling a sandwich panel with a honeycomb filler which eliminates the need for precision milling to form steps on the surface of the filler. This is achieved by making the filler of individual blocks whose dimensions coincide with the dimensions of the skin steps; they are then connected to one another and to the surface of the skin, the filler is machined to the required dimension with respect to panel height and then the second skin is fastened to the machined surface of the filler.
