Centralized Direction of US Stability Operations in an Insurgency.

Abstract

The paper examines the nature of war against insurgency plus the structure used to control US military-civil operations in the Vietnam War. The purpose will be to determine the most effective and desirable apparatus for centralized direction of US military-civil operations for any future situation where US combat forces are committed to conduct stability operations against a mid- to high-level insurgency.
