A Study of Underway Time Per Sortie of Various Classes of Coast Guard Ships.

Abstract

The study is to obtain an estimate of the amount of time Coast Guard vessels are away from port. The necessary data was taken from the 'Abstract of Operations' and calculations were done by a Control Data 3300 computer. Plotting of graphs was done by a Cal Comp Model 750 Plotter. These plots give the probability that a class of ship will be underway less than or equal to a given amount of time. This study does not draw any conclusions or make any predictions of future trends in operational time of Coast Guard vessels. (Author)
