Abstract
The report describes a method for evaluation of heat seeking missiles and discusses preliminary activities, equipment, and facilities required. Provided are procedures for gyro spin-up time, gyro spin-up current, gyro spin- down time, maximum look angle, recovery time, maximum slew rate, gyro drift, signal-to-noise ratio, cool-down time, field-of-view, caging accuracy, static gain, spectral responsivity, intercept ability, gyro spin versus slew rate, maximum tracking versus gyro spin, maximum tracking rate versus target intensity, low temperature storage and operation, high temperature storage and operation, transportation vibration, handling shock, and boost shock. The report also discusses gyro spin-up time, maximum look angle, signal-to-noise ratio and low temperature storage and is limited to infrared seekers.
