Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) Studies of Short Lived Intermediates using Computer Control.

Abstract

Objectives of the initial part of the program included acquiring and assembling the necessary equipment for this task, interfacing the electron spin resonance (esr) spectrometer to the computer, testing this apparatus, and writing programs which enable data from the esr spectrometer to be taken by the computer, stored on tape, and displayed on an x-y recorder or storage oscilloscope. The equipment which is to be used in this work includes a modified Varian Model V-4502-esr spectrometer, a Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC) PDP-8/E computer, a Vidar Model 520 integrating digital voltmeter (DVM), a 64 channel reed relay multiplexor, as well as x-y recorders and a storage oscilloscope.
