Annual Report in Support of Hyperbaric Physiology Research.

Abstract

The report describes the progress made in the development of a physiological monitoring system for use in hyperbaric research. The system, designed around a mini-computer configuration, is able to monitor up to 16 channels of analog data and 5 channels of data from radioisotope detectors. Both real-time and non real-time data analysis is included as part of the operational system. During the period covered by the report the system was used to: monitor physiological response of divers subject to various hyperbaric environments and workloads; test the effectiveness of electronically heated suits; and monitor-inert gas uptake and distribution in anaesthetized dogs under hyperbaric conditions.
