A Survey of Research on Optimal Design and Control of Queues,

Abstract

A great deal of emphasis in queueing theory recently has been in the area of design and control modeling. The paper surveys these efforts to date, which can be conveniently categorized as static design models, dynamic control models, queue discipline control and miscellaneous models. Past, current and future directions are emphasized. (Author)
