Exploring Probate Records.

Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to illustrate how the simultaneous consideration of data analytic methods, the psychology of perception, and historical knowledge can aid the study of wealth distribution in colonial Maryland and Massachusetts for the time period 1650-1720.
