A Miniature Conditioning Unit for Inductive Transducers,

Abstract

The design features of a miniature conditioning unit for producing a voltage output from an inductive transducer are discussed. Small size has been achieved by the use of square wave rather than sine wave energisation. Although the unit employs inexpensive components, its performance is such that in typical aerospace environments its errors are likely to be smaller than those of the transducer itself. The practicability of miniature conditioning units of low cost for inductive transducers suggests that these transducers, with their inherent versatility and ruggedness, should be further developed to meet demanding applications in the aerospace field.
