Circuit Optimisation Techniques Using a Computer.
Abstract
The reliability of an equipment depends upon many things, one of the most important being the accurate design and tolerancing of circuits. This is best achieved by use of the simplest circuit having adequate performance and tolerancing. The tolerancing can be achieved using Monte Carlo techniques, but some means of circuit optimization is desirable. The report discusses the methods of circuit optimization and highlights both the advantages and pitfalls of circuit optimization by computer. A number of examples are used to demonstrate the wide variety of applications possible. (Author)
