An Equal Discriminability Scale,

Abstract

A report is made on auditory perceptiveness and the construction of a scale of loudness discriminability, involving three hypotheses. Tests are described on a linear relation of discriminability to cumulative difference limens for intensity, anchoring effects near the highest and lowest intensities, and lack of effect of spacing as determined by limiting intensities.
