Effects on Training of Experimental Film Variables. Study I: Verbalization, Rate of Development, Nomenclature, Errors, 'How-it-Works', Repetition (Rapid Mass Learning).

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the relative effects on learning of certain content and tempo characteristics of instructional films designed to teach an assembly task. Seventeen different versions of a film on the assembly of the breech block of an antiaircraft gun were presented to different 30-man groups, after which each man was required to try to assemble the parts of a disassembled breech block. Time scores were obtained and the results are discussed.
