An Evaluation of the California Highway Patrol High School Information and Education Program.

Abstract

An evaluation of the California Highway Patrol High School Information and Education Program was conducted to determine if the program was effecting a positive change in the attitudes of young people toward law enforcement and law-enforcement officers. A twenty-five item questionnaire was administered to eleventh and twelfth grade students in two Monterey Peninsula high schools. The Highway Patrol Program was presented in one of the schools and then both schools were re-tested using the same questionnaire. No significant change in attitudes was found. (Author)
