The Ammonation of cis-Dichlorodiammine palladium(II).

Abstract

The reaction of cis-dichlorodiamminepalladium(II) with ammonia: cis-Pd(NH3)2Cl2 to Pd(NH3)3Cl(+) to Pd(NH3)4(2+) Pd(NH3)4(+2) was studied over the temperature range 10-21C using ultraviolet spectroscopy. Slow and fast steps are identified and the observed rate constants for these steps were obtained. Using these values, comparisons are drawn with previously reported data. (Modified author abstract)
