Amnesty for Those Who Wouldn't Go.

Abstract

The monograph examines the issue of amnesty for American draft dodgers and deserters of the Vietnam era. Amnesties in US history are explored and underlying reasons for previous amnesties are identified. The political aspects of amnesty are studied by reviewing the impact of amnesty on the 1972 Presidential election and through studying actions of the 92d Congress that dealt with amnesty.
