Leadership and Management: A Comparative Analysis.

Abstract

The study presents the proposition that leadership and management are synonymous. Selected definitions of both terms are analyzed for areas of similarity and dissimilarity, and the author comments in detail on the latter. A comparative analysis of commonality or comparability between leadership and management functions is included.. Data from DA Pamphlet 600-15, 'Leadership at Senior Levels of Command,' represents the reference base for the latter. A simplistic model of comparable leadership and management functions is developed and included. (Modified author abstract)
