Major Overhaul of High-Speed Diesels,

Abstract

The book examines the economics and technology of repairing high-speed diesels and requisite equipment; the causes of the malfunctioning of parts are presented, along with the mathematical evaluation of the operating-time dependence of wear and methods for finding the maximum allowable wear of parts. Group and overall assembly and the testing of diesels after overhauling are discussed in detail, in addition to the industrial operations of repairing diesels on a flowline basis. The book reflects the operating experience at leading plants in the major overhauling of diesel models V2-300, D6, and D12, widely distributed in the national economy. (Modified author abstract)
