Measuring Loss Due to Pilferage,
Abstract
The purpose of the study is to develop a stock point report which summarizes data from existing Navy ADP programs to assist in determining volume of inventory loss due to theft. The study shows that, although no quantitative measure for volume of loss could be determined, ADP can be used to focus attention on items, locations, and areas in the throughput process that have the greatest number of inventory adjustment transactions. Closer analysis of these adjustments and possibly subsequent security measures might then be initiated. (Author)
