Abstract
The purpose of the study was to review Reserve recruiting activities and problems, so as to propose ways to improve Reserve recruiting in order to decrease manpower shortages. The study examines the present and projected magnitude of the problem. It further displays and compares recruiting costs and personnel for the FY 1971-1974 period. The different approaches used by each Reserve Component in staffing its recruiting organization is described. The study further presents ideas for increasing the supply of prior service and non-prior service enlistments.
