Shipboard Cruise Report on Leg 10 of Expedition South Tow.

Abstract

During Scripps Expedition South Tow Leg 10, five small patches of the floor of the South Pacific north of Samoa were examined with the deeply towed instrument package of the Marine Physical Laboratory. The objective was to learn enough about the hydrography and geology in a range of high energy abyssal environments to understand the relationship between the two in both erosional and depositional regimes. This report describes operational aspects of the expedition, presents some data, and offers a few preliminary interpretations. (Modified author abstract)
