Dependence of Durability on the Type of Loading and on Factors Which Characterize the Test Conditions,

Abstract

The report examines the use of laws governing the stress-rupture strength for structural materials under conditions of cyclic loading. The use of equations of the kinetic theory of solids enables one to determine the dependence of number of cycles before destruction on the type of the load cycle, stress in the cycle, and test temperature.
