Population Control in India for the 1970's Impact on US National Security Affairs.

Abstract

The study addresses the problem of population control in India. By way of a description of India and its people, the author defines the tremendous magnitude of the problem. Information was gathered using a literature search and interviews with officials of the State Department. The implementation of a population control policy in the world's most populous democratic nation with centuries old customs is examined comprehensively. A review of US policy and US national interests explains how population control efforts in India impact on US national security affairs. (Modified author abstract)
