Computer Impact on Military Organization.

Abstract

The computer impact on business organization has been extensive. The report presents an analysis of this impact as it pertains to the US Army organization. Organizational principles were developed by literature research and were applied to major Army field command type organizations, Current Army organizational doctrine does not reflect the modern role of the computer, but this report concludes that the computer does require changes in the structure of the Army organization based on the principles developed. In the modern organizational structure, information will be recognized as a primary resource of the organization and will be intensively managed, but the organizational focus will be on decisionmaking functions.
