Current Reasons Why Veterinary Corps Officers Choose a Regular Army Career.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to determine the current reasons why Veterinary Corps officers choose a Regular Army career. Information and data were gathered using a questionnaire which was sent to all officers who entered the Veterinary Corps-Regular Army since 1965. It was determined the five main reasons were: the opportunity for further training at Army expense, a liking for the Army and Military life, retirement benefits after a 20-plus year career, opportunities to do research, and other financial rewards.
