Design Development and Testing of Vibragimbal Multisensor.
Abstract
The report describes the design effort, test methods, acceptance test results and reliability predictions for a unique type of platform gyroscopic inertial instrument. This instrument has been referred to as a multisensor because it provides, in one small package, a two axis gyroscopic angular reference and a two axis accelerometer. The design and test effort on the Multisensor has resulted in an inertial quality instrument with the potential of low cost per system through the use of many common parts for gyro and accelerometer sections and the requirement of only two identical instruments per system. The design and test effort resulted also in improved fabrication, assembly and testing techniques and procedures. (Modified author abstract)
