Abstract

The Army currently suffers from a poor public image, a direct reflection of how well the public believes the Army is doing its job and how willing the public is to support the Army's efforts. By applying commonly accepted public relations techniques, members of the Army community can gain the public support needed by the Army to effectively perform its mission. The monograph relies heavily on communications research to support an invigorated speaking program aimed at civilian opinion leaders. It also stresses the importance of Modern Volunteer Army reforms to having a strong vocal alumni in the years ahead. (Modified author abstract)
