Interactions of Very Energetic Charged Particles with Matter.

Abstract

The work carried out under this contract involved investigations directed toward increasing our understanding of the high Z cosmic ray nuclei that arrive at the top of the earth's atmosphere. Reported on are experiments involving nuclear interactions of high energy neon nuclei in emulsion, particle induced visual sensations and the ability of the Princeton Particle Accelerator to accelerate argon nuclei to relativistic velocities.
