An Investigation of Peptide Charts of Enterobacteriaceae Allergens in Connection with Allergenic Cross Reactions,

Abstract

The presence of antigenic cross connections in representatives of Enterobacteriaceae genera is an acknowledged fact. The relationship between representatives of Enterobacteriaceae affects the nature of the allergic sensitization of the macroorganisms infected by them. The appearance of cross reactions during the carrying out of skin tests with dysenteric, salmonella and other Enterobacteriaceae allergens on experimental animals, sensitized with heterologous exciting substances or in those ill with these diseases, is described. The cited data makes it necessary to assume the presence of a definite similarity in the composition and the structure of the allergens, isolated from the corresponding Enterobacteriaceae strains. The present investigation is devoted to the experimental verification of this assumption.
