The Influence of the Conditions of Grounding on the Protective Effect of the Casing and Jacket of a Main Communications Cable,

Abstract

The primary dependence of practicable k.z.d. (coefficient of protective action) of the casing and jacket of a mainline cable on the resistance of the terminal ground connections of the cable casing on the sector of influence was established. It was also found that the effective use of branch cables as grounding electrodes of a mainline cable is possible only in a region with relatively good ground conductivity.
