Results of a Survey of Young Cod Population in the Barents Sea in the Autumn-Winter Period 1967/68 (Resultaty Ucheta Molodi Treski v Barentsevom More b Osenne-Zimnii Period 1967/68 G),

Abstract

Bottom trawling during voyages of the TUNETS and MELITOPOL sampled populations of young cod (less than 36cm long; i.e., less than commercial-sized) in the Barents Sea. Young cod in the southern Barents Sea were most numerous in the eastern and coastal regions and rarest in the northeast. Most of the cod were of the 1964 generation and were not classified as young. Most young cod in the Spitzbergen-Bear Island region were found on Bear Island Bank. (Author)
