Ecological Relationships between Arboviruses, Ectoparasites, and Vertebrates in Ethiopia.

Abstract

The purpose of this project is to identify the natural vertebrate hosts of pathogenic arboviruses that infect man in Ethiopia. The methods of study are collection and identification of vertebrate animals species areas where the viruses are endemic, determination of the immunological status of the material, and elucidation of the relative ecological and epidemiological importance of the infected vertebrates. Five study areas have been established representing a diverse cross-section of habitats and geographic regions. (Modified author abstract)
