Application of the Huggins Blood Freezing Technique to Outdated, Rejuvenated Units of Blood Coupled with a Postthaw Storage Period.

Abstract

The Huggins freezing technique works well on outdated (21 days old), rejuvenated blood. Both fresh and outdated-rejuvenated blood samples may be restored at 4C for at least 4 days in Fenwal Elutralyte S-4 solution after thawing, via the Huggins procedure. (Author)
