Design Study of Fragmentation Warhead for Nike Zeus.

Abstract

The design study phase of the Picatinny Arsenal development program for a fragmentation warhead for the Nike Zeus tests at Kwajalein is summarized. Included is a discussion of the theoretical basis of the project, with descriptions of designs considered, tests conducted, and resulting conclusions as to the design concepts most worthy of full-scale development. Also included is the planned schedule for the remainder of the program. (Author)
