Exhaust Emissions from Military Engine Generator Sets.

Abstract

The authors measured and documented the exhaust emission characteristics of four gasoline, seven diesel, two turbine, one stratified charge combustion, and one Rankine cycle powered engine-generator sets. Comparative emissions were also measured and documented for specified engines equipped with variable jet carburetors, catalytic reactors, ozonator, or air injection system. Exhaust component concentrations and fuel consumption rates were measured at specified engine operating conditions (governed RPM and variable loads). The exhaust analyzer readings were converted to pollutant concentrations and are presented in this report. (Modified author abstract)
