Convincing the Public that the Reservist is not a Goldbrick or a Draft Dodger.

Abstract

The essay examines the need to develop a public relations program to improve the image of the Army Reserve and the National Guard. It stresses that the image of the Reserve Components will directly affect the recruiting and retention of personnel in the Modern Volunteer Army--Zero Draft Environment. The capability of the unit to perform its mission will depend upon maintaining strength. Recommendations are made for formulating a public relations program. (Modified author abstract)
