The Brain Drain in Developing Countries.

Abstract

Developing countries have difficulty in retaining many of their highly trained people. Lebanon is examined as a case country. People trained in foreign countries, in particular, doctors, engineers, and similar professionals, tend to migrate, often to the country where they received their training. Reasons for the flow of talent from developing countries to developed countries appear to be the policies followed by both losing and gaining countries. Doctors, in particular, do not desire to work in rural areas under primitive conditions.
