Why Separatism in Canada.
Abstract
The paper examines and synthesizes the causal factors of separatism by French-Canadians in Quebec, Canada. It assesses the historical, language, religious and philisophical, educational, and economic differences between French-Canadians and English speaking Canadians, which precipitated the militant separatist movement in the 1960s. Following this assessment, an analysis is provided on trends and outlook for the separatist movement and its impact on Canadian unity. (Modified author abstract)
