An All-Volunteer Armed Force: Illusion of Reality.

Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to examine the potential for attaining an all-volunteer armed force in the United States. Historical background, manpower capability, economic and political factors and current trends are examined for indicators of success. The essay concludes that an all-volunteer force will be tried and can be successful.
