A Better College ROTC Program.
Abstract
The paper undertakes to review the history of the US Army ROTC Program, to describe the present status of ROTC in the colleges and universities and to submit a proposal for a revised program which will preserve this valuable source of junior officers. Owing to the importance of continuing the ROTC Program, it is suggested that the present Two Year Program be modified as the basis for a new system to train officers on the campus. The four year program would eventually be discontinued except at military colleges. The recommended program is designed to produce better trained officers upon graduation. (Modified author abstract)
