Design, Construction and Testing of a High Voltage Pulsed Regulator for Use in the NPS Linear Accelerator.

Abstract

The paper describes the design, construction and testing of a pulsed high voltage regulator installed in one modulator of the Naval Postgraduate School Linear Accelerator. The design is adapted from a similar network in use at Stanford University. The prototype system was found to improve the voltage regulation by a factor of 168, and to eliminate undesirable energy shifts in the electron beam due to fluctuations in line voltage. (Author)
