25 Feet 10 Inches Motor Rescue Boat Experimental Prototype,

Abstract

The development of a high speed Motor Rescue Surf Boat for use in shallow waters and moderately severe sea conditions has been desired for twenty years. During the last six years an innovative design for a high speed surf boat has been developed by the Coast Guard personnel. The report summarizes the developmental concepts, model and full scale testing and development of an experimental prototype rescue boat, and presents encouraging prototype performance data. Further redesign and re-evaluation is now being carried out for the construction of an operational rescue boat in the future. (Author)
