Biological Shielding of Propulsion Reactor Plants,
Abstract
The report supplements a previous report with new material on shielding physics. It contains newly published data on the passage of neutrons and gamma-quanta through shielding with heterogeneities. Considerable attention is devoted to using these data for practical calculations of shielding. The sections pertaining to calculation of the yield of secondary gamma-radiation formed in the shielding and to calculations of the space-energy distributions of neutrons in various media have been expanded.
