The Possibilities of the Identification of Precipitation Zones with MISZ (Meteorological Artificial Earth Satellites),
Abstract
Some theoretical questions are discussed connected with the creation of the airborne thermoviewer working in the SHF-range and intended for determining liquid-drop precipitation zones. During the creation of such an airborne instrument the initial prerequisites are the following: equipment should be small-scale, have high spatial resolution with a broad survey band of the underlying surface. Furthermore, it should possess the sensitivity sufficient for detection of rain above the different forms of underlying surface, be less sensitive to cloudiness not giving precipitation. One additional important condition which this equipment should satisfy consists of ensuring the invariability of the polarization during the reception of intrinsic emission of the underlying surface.
